1975

SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE! Russell sez: the
dates shown here were rather, ummm, ambitious. I-65 around Hoover
wasn't complete until 1979. And the section from there to
Alabaster didn't open until 1981. And I-65 wasn't open to
Warrior until ... 1985!! (that's about the time 459 was finished around the city)
Why was I reacting this way on Christmas morning 1975? I had just gotten my first Super 8 home movie camera! (before the day was over, I was already writing scripts I intended to produce ... some of which actually got done ...)

In a recent, sad development, Pat Harrington (who played "Schneider"), is now suffering from Alzheimer's.
|
 | | | Old-time
radio nostalgia was beginning its great renaissance. But
thanks to the interwebz, one can listen to WOTW, along with hundreds of
other OTR recordings for the princely sum of -nada-. |

The daily countdown was no longer sponsored by Christmas Seals! |
Names one does not normally connect ... Oral Roberts, Jerry Lewis and H. R. Pufnstuf? |
 |

|
Movies based on comic strips had certainly changed since "Li'l Abner" and "A Boy Named Charlie Brown." |

Stay tuned for the forthcoming website, "Kmart Rewound" (I'm surprised they've held in this long!!)

It wasn't Sears in the '70s without Pooh!!
